Thank you for agreeing to show your art work in the exhibition, Velocity: the Art of Motion. We hope participation will be a great experience for you. Important dates and deadlines as well as helpful information can be found below.

Important Dates & Deadlines
March 1, 2008: exhibition catalogue information deadline. Please submit the following:
- your photo (high resolution) and a short (100 words) bio
- a high resolution image of at least one of the pieces you are including in the show (if possible, images of all you are including)
- a list of the works you are showing (maximum of 3) – for each include title, medium, framed dimensions, year completed (opt) and price if for sale
E-mail the above to sbibus@hopkinsmn.com.
You may pick up your complimentary copy of the exhibition catalogue anytime during the exhibition or we will mail it to you if you can not attend.
June 1, 2008: final deadline for confirming attendance at the opening receptions and breakfast
June 24, 2008: deadline for artwork to arrive at the Hopkins Center for the Arts (please try to have it arrive June 23 or 24)
June 28-August 3, 2008: exhibition open for viewing. Unsold artwork will be shipped back to the artists on August 5, 2008. Please arrange for return shipping with your selected carrier at your expense when you schedule delivery.
Opening Weekend - RSVP
Saturday, June 28, 8 pm: private opening reception for artists, sponsors and invited guests
Sunday, June 29, 4 pm: public opening reception
Monday, June 30, 8 am: networking/social breakfast at the hotel
If you are planning on attending one or more of the three events listed above, confirm your participation at the time you make your travel plans but no later than June 1 by e-mailing sbibus@hopkinsmn.com. (We recommend making your hotel and travel arrangements well in advance.)
Area Attractions
There are many places worth visiting in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area if you would like to strike out on your own between the Velocity opening events. The area boasts world class art museums including: The Museum of Russian Art, The Walker Art Center (contemporary art), The Minneapolis Institute of Arts (encyclopedic museum of world art), The Weisman Art Museum designed by Frank Gehry, and the Minnesota Museum of Art. There are also numerous galleries, clubs and restaurants, shops, theaters, sports venues, the Minnesota History Center, The Science Museum of Minnesota, and award-winning architecture including the Minneapolis Public Library by Cesar Pelli and the Guthrie Theater by Jean Nouvel. The area will also be hosting the annual Nord Stern all Porsche Concours de Elegance Sunday, June 29.
Hotel and Travel Information
Artists are responsible for arranging for their own transportation. For out-of-town artists, shuttle buses and cabs are available at the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport to take you to your hotel (at your expense).
A complimentary shuttle bus will run from the hotel to the opening receptions and back at the close of the receptions.
We have made a group block reservation at reduced prices at the following hotel for the nights of Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29. This rate is $99/night. Please note that there are additional charges for telephone usage and in-room internet connection. (The hotel lobby has free wireless access.)

The hotel is located 6.51 miles/10.41 km from the Hopkins Center for the Arts. It is located 22.72 miles/ 36.35 km from the international airport (estimated $40 USD taxi cab fare; if you can catch a Super Shuttle it is less expensive), and 8 miles/12.9 km from downtown Minneapolis. Please note that the hotel is all nonsmoking.
Booking process: Call the toll-free number listed above and identify yourself as part of the group for Hopkins Center for the Arts. The hotel will not require a room deposit in order to make a reservation but will require a valid credit card number to reserve the room. We recommend making your reservation at your earliest convenience. While we are having the hotel hold rooms open for our artists, they will only do so until June 13.
Hotel Cancellation Policy: If your plans change, you can cancel your reservation up to 24 hours prior to check-in.
Check in and check out times: Check-in is after 3 pm; check-out is at noon.
Shipping Your Work
The deadline for artwork to arrive at the Hopkins Center for the Arts is June 24, 2008. Ideally, it should arrive in Hopkins on June 23 or June 24.
We recommend using an air carrier such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, or similar shipper. Please arrange for two-way shipping of your artwork. The shipper you choose should be able to assist you in making this process as painless as possible.

Please be sure that each piece of artwork is labeled with your name, the title of the piece, and to where we should return it after the show. If there are any special hanging/installation instructions, please include them in your shipping crate.
