"The Best Things In Life Are Free"
Sunday, June 7, 2009
7 pm
The members of the Hopkins Westwind Concert Band, under the musical direction of Don Bates, invite you to join them for their spring concert at the HCA.
The concert, part of the HWCB’s “Music for the Community” events, will highlight music by Leroy Anderson (Irish Washerwoman), D.W. Reeves ( Yankee Doodle-Fantasie Humoresque), Frank Ticheli (Cajun Folk Songs 2), and Rodgers & Hammerstein (South Pacific), as a gift to the community in this unsettled economic environment.
Also included in the program will be a setting by J.B. Chance (Variations On A Korean Folk Song) and the “Title Tune” of the concert, The Best Things In Life Are Free. In addition the band will feature its usual mix of marches, show tunes, and our patriotic finale.
