In 2006, HCA, Inc.'s fall film festival will again feature vintage film assembled especially for our series by film historian and preservationist Bob DeFlores. Additional footage is provided courtesy of Ron Hall of Festival Films. New this year, Brian Barnes of Movie Vaudeville joins the collaboration by bringing live musical entertainment to each film event. Combining the talents of artists past and present, these are events not found anywhere else.

Jazz Masters II
Monday, October 9, 7:30 pm
All new one-of-a-kind show featuring clips of great jazz musicians of the past such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Clifford Brown in his only screen apperance, Henry James, and Dizzy Gillespie. These classic film clips are enhanced by a live performance of the trio, Jazz Deluxe.
Dancing the Night Away

Fantastic tap dancers are caught on film including Ray Bolger, Bo Jangles, Buddy Ebsen, the Nicholas Brothers, Fred Astaire, some amazing child dance stars, Hal Leroy, and Ann Miller. With live entertainment provided by tap dancer John Crosbie and Bill Mohr on the banjo, this will be a toe-tapping evening!
SciFi-orama!
Monday, October 23, 7:30 pm
Old sci-fi so bad it's good. Buster Crabbe is Flash Gordon in the feature Rocket Ship (1936). Flash, Dr. Zarkov and Dale soar off into space to stop the planet Mongo from barreling towards Earth, and face an amazing array of foes courtesy of evil mastermind Ming the Merciless. Sci-fi trailers add to the fun and live music is provided by the Galacticrons, a trio of rockin' alien musicologists -- see and hear the amazing theremin!

Fright Night!
Monday, October 30, 7:30 pm
This year we feature the silent classic based on the Dracula story, Nosferatu (1922). The premiere of a new score by Brian Barnes will be performed live to the film by the MovieVaudeville Orchestra. Come in costume and receive 1/2 off on your tickets!
