about the festival
The Hopkins Arts Festival is the kick off event to the 75th annual Raspberry Festival. The festive weekend centers in historic Hopkins, and highlights the scope of activities presented year-round by the Hopkins Center for the Arts.
- This mid-July weekend begins early, with the ongoing Farmers Market Saturday morning from 7:30 am to 12 noon.
- At 10 am, the artist booths lining historic Mainstreet will add paintings, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, photography and much more to the wares featured in the street’s unique shops.
- Free music will take place in the bandshell in Downtown Park and at the west stage on Mainstreet.
- Stages Theatre Company will run family-friendly activities adjacent to Downtown Park.
- Food vendors and local restaurants will provide a wide variety of summertime fare.
As a special bonus, Stages Theatre Company is offering a special Hopkins Arts Festival discount for the 1 pm and 7 pm performances of the Wizard of Oz on Saturday, July 11. Materials from the University of Minnesota’s Wizard of Oz collection will be on exhibit in the Lobby Galleries of the Hopkins Center for the Arts and will be free and open to the public for viewing.
The Friends of the Hopkins Center for the Arts is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit corporation, which raises funds to provide high quality and affordable exhibitions, concerts, and other events for people of all ages at the Hopkins Center for the Arts. Proceeds from the festival directly benefit arts programming at the Center.
