Open Water, Thin Ice at Shady Oak Lake
The City of Minnetonka has installed an aeration system in Shady Oak Lake, which creates open water and thin ice around the dock structure. The system was installed to keep the water open around the floating dock to prevent structural damage from ice. The aerators are located on the west and east corners of the dock. The system will be activated on January 14, and will stay active until the ice begins to thaw.
