Hopkins, MN – The City of Hopkins is seeking applicants to fill a seat on the City Council, which was vacated by Katy Campbell, who resigned from her position at the October 2 City Council meeting.
Campbell was first elected in November 2015 in a special election to fill a remaining two-year term vacated by State Representative Cheryl Youakim, who was elected to the Minnesota Legislature. Campbell was re-elected in November 2017 to a serve a four-year term. The council is seeking applicants to serve until November 2019, when a special election will be held to fill Campbell’s remaining term, which expires in 2021.
Applicants must be a qualified and registered voter of the City, who shall have resided in Hopkins for a minimum of 30 days. The City Council will review applications and conduct interviews, and anticipates filling the vacancy prior to the regular meeting on November 20.
